Drumming Circle
With Anthony from Woonona Shala

Friday March 13th | 6:30pm - 8pm
At My Yoga Space, Thirlmere

Drumming is one of humanity’s oldest forms of gathering. Long before words, we spoke through rhythm. Long before we analysed, we felt.
The drum reminds us of that.
Through drumming we reconnect with our own innate rhythm — while also weaving into the collective rhythm of the group.
There’s something ancient that awakens when we sit in circle and drum together.
The steady pulse.
The shared rhythm.
The moment when separate beats become one living, breathing sound.
This is not about performance.
It’s not about getting it “right.”
It’s about listening, responding and allowing yourself to be part of something collective.
It’s energising. It’s grounding. It’s fun!

Meet Anthony & Ally...
We’re so excited to welcome Anthony and Ally from Woonona Shala.
Their shala was born from a deep love of community, sacred gathering, and reverence for the wisdom of diverse cultures. Anthony and Ally have travelled widely — with roots in Africa and pilgrimages through India, South America and beyond — exploring ancient traditions of rhythm, song, mantra and spiritual connection.
Their work is grounded in sangha — the power of coming together — and the understanding that transformation happens in unity. Through drumming, chanting, meditation and embodied practice, they create spaces where people can reconnect to truth, laughter, devotion and the shared language of the heart.
You can learn more about them here.
This drumming circle is a beautiful introduction to their energy before they return later in the year to share kirtan and more drumming here in Thirlmere.
