About the Event

Join us for community Kirtan - a unique and enlivening way to meditate!

with Ruth Pirie and Ally & Anthony from Woonona Shala who will be sharing their drumming and more mantras with us.

Kirtan is a practice of call and response chanting of sacred sounds and mantras. The chants are simple and easy to follow.

The call and response nature of Kirtan creates a gentle rhythm that keeps the mind engaged and centered, making it an accessible form of meditation for all levels of meditation experience.

Experience a deeper connection to your wholeness and the softness for the heart-mind field, as thoughts gradually subside and the soothing sounds and mantras support you.

Facilitate a re-calibration of the nervous system through the restorative benefits of meditation through chanting and music. This practice eases you into the rest, digest, rebuild, restore functions of the body as your mind starts to release stress and your nervous system starts to unwind.

Collective chanting can be a supportive way to find co-regulation within a safe space, amongst community.

Following Kirtan there will be the opportunity to connect and chat over tea and nibbles.

* This evening will be by donation of $20 on the day - with 50% profits going to Local charity (TBA)

**RSVP Required, please, so we are aware of number of attendance**

* No previous yoga, meditation or chanting experience is required - All welcome!

Acknowledgement of Country by Jonathan Hill, a poet living in NSW.

Today we stand in footsteps millennia old. May we acknowledge the traditional owners whose cultures and customs have nurtured, and continue to nurture, this land, since men and women awoke from the great dream. We honour the presence of these ancestors who reside in the imagination of this land and whose irrepressible spirituality flows through all creation.

My Yoga Space pays respect to the Dharawal, Gundangurra and Darug Nations on whose land we live and work.
